Island Health to Launch Integrated Vocantas CallAssure™ and Kronos ESP™ Scheduling Solution
Island Health, one of six health authorities serving 765 000 people on Vancouver Island and parts of mainland British Columbia with over 18 000 staff offering a variety of services, recently selected Vocantas to integrate with their existing scheduling system, Kronos’ Workforce ESP. Kronos provides innovative workforce management solutions to businesses across the globe, and has developed powerful staff scheduling software for the health care industry. The integrated Vocantas and Kronos solution enables Island Health to automate their relief staff scheduling processes almost entirely, maximizing connectivity with staff members, filling more vacant shifts more quickly, and reducing costs.
Island Health chose to procure an automated, interactive voice solution to connect with staff in order to streamline communications and reduce costs associated with tying up valuable time to make individual phone calls. The automated calls are quick and intelligent, asking staff to confirm their acceptance of full and partial shifts and updating all information in a secure portal. Staff members can select their preferred mode of contact, whether it is mobile phone, SMS, or email, in a secure web portal. The system recommends shift award based on collective bargaining agreements and Island Health’s business rules using preconfigured criteria embedded in Kronos’ Workforce ESP.
