Software Deployment Specialist

Vocantas is looking for an experienced Software Deployment Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis. Among the Software Deployment Specialist’s duties will be planning, deploying and supporting complex web and telephony applications in a distributed environment, including many cloud-based (hosted) and premise-based software and hardware components. Post-deployment, the Specialist will assist the Support Organization with investigation/troubleshooting of customer-reported issues.  This role will enable the Specialist to gain exposure to all aspects of the company and have fun.

Technical Qualifications

  • Knowledge of networking technologies, administration and troubleshooting tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies/tools
  • Some understanding of VOIP telephony

Non-Technical Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent customer relations and customer support skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to maneuver through the organization, collaborate and share ideas
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to direct and assist in problem resolution

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • College diploma or university degree from a Computer Science or related program

Nice to Have Skills and Experience

  • Microsoft Windows Server and Linux administration
  • Experience deploying and configuring .NET web applications in a Windows Server environment
  • Experience working in Windows, Visual Basic and Microsoft Visual Studio including .NET (C# and VB) environments
  • Telecom configuration and analysis/troubleshooting (PBXs, Telco, CTI, Dialogic, Asterisk, OpenSIPS, etc.)
  • Automated speech recognition (ASR) and IVR applications
  • Experience working in a VM environment (preferably VMWare)
  • Knowledge of hardware installation and configuration
  • Experience with project management methodologies
  • Signaling protocols: VOIP, SIP, H.323, ISDN, PRI, T1 RB
  • Basic programming/scripting experience in Windows and Linux
