Internal IT Support Specialist

Overview

Vocantas is looking for an experienced Internal ITSupport Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidatewill combine a true passion for technology with a deep desire to ensure thatcustomers always come first.

Your main responsibilities will be to provide internaltechnical support for staff using a hands-on approach, with a thoroughunderstanding of the products, configurations and the best practices in MicrosoftOffice Products in particular Outlook. Secondary will be to assist the Network team as needed.

Duties

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of networking technologies, administration and troubleshooting tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies/tools
  • Understanding of VoIP telephony
  • Basic programming/scripting experience in Windows and Linux

Non-Technical Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent customer relations and customer support skills
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to direct and assist in problem resolution
  • At least 3 years of direct technical or customer support experience

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • University or College degree from a Computer Science or related program

Nice to Have Skills and Experience

  • Telephony (i.e. PBXs, Telco, CTI cards) and PC knowledge; Dialogic card knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Speech Server and Speech SDK
  • Knowledge of hardware installation and configuration
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Linux administration
  • Experience deploying and configuring .NET web applications in a Windows Server environment
  • Experience working in a VM environment (preferably VMWare)
  • Previous IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system development experience
  • In-depth knowledge of signaling protocols (i.e. VoIP, SIP, H.323, ISDN, T1 RB)
  • Experience with low-level Telecom configuration and analysis and troubleshooting
